Birthday parties are no only about playing games and eating cake anymore. The longer the party lasts, the more likely that it is that you will need to serve a meal as well. Finger foods are often the easiest to make and certainly to clean up after the party.
To really make it a great party with great food, try using bright colors. If the foods are bland, then the children will be less likely to eat them. Just a few drops of food coloring can draw the attention of the kids. Having purple cheese on their pizza or green ham on their finger sandwiches can be fun for little children.
If you plan to provide juices for the drinks buy something that is green or blue, as everyone knows blue foods always taste better. Cut sandwiches into different shapes or shapes that are associated with the theme that you have devised for the party.
Provide a wide variety of foods too. Each child is different and children tend to be very picky about their foods. If there will be a number of adults there as well, consider having some larger versions of the same foods. A great option for cake is to bake individual cakes or cupcakes.
You can decorate each one with the child's name or even buy a number of decorates, such as sprinkles and different colored icings and let the children decorate their own. Provide wet paper towels, as this can become very messy if the children are younger. Fun foods can make a party more entertaining.Labels: activities, birthday, celebrations, children, childrens, kids, parties, party

Birthdays are always special events for children. Making each one a lasting memory that they enjoy, is something to strive for when planning. An important step when planning an outdoor party is to be prepared for all types of weather. If you are unsure of whether it will be cool or raining on the date of the party, perhaps it would be appropriate to have the party in an area that also has an indoors area, or a tent so that it can be brought indoors.
Provide age appropriate games and prizes for those that will attend the party. Having games that are too advanced or not advanced enough will cause the children to be bored quickly and that is not how you want your children to remember their birthday party. Having an age appropriate party length is also important.
Parties that are too long for young children can cause them to be grumpy. Also remember to plan around activities and schedules that your children already have. If you have small children who nap daily from 12-2, do not plan the party to cut into their nap times. This will cause them to be tired and cranky during the party.
Provide easy, fun finger foods. If the party is to be in the middle of the afternoon, it is easier to just provide cake and drinks, while if it is close to lunch or dinner time, you may want to provide a full, child appropriate meal for them. Make each party special for your child, so they will have happy memories for many years to follow.Labels: birthday, celebrations, childrens, kids, parties
