When you're trying to think of the perfect place to have a kids party, you may get overwhelmed and frustrated. Sure, you can always book the local arcade or the nearby pizza joint. But, if you want to host a healthy and memorable party, you'll need to think of something more unique, creative and health-friendly.

Thus, one of the greatest places to have a kids party is the local gym complex. These gyms are equipped with a multitude of fun activities and equipment for children to experience. From giant trampolines to rope swings into foam pits, children can play for hours on end. In fact, parents often are brave enough to join in on the fun as well!

Whether you're planning the party for a birthday or just "for fun", the gym will take care of all details. From set up to clean up, they have it all covered. In fact, they will even provide a party host or hostess to assist you. The host will instruct the children on how to use all equipment, go over safety rules and monitor the children during the party. You can then relax on the sidelines, knowing your children are enjoying themselves and are safely monitored by a professional gymnast.

Hosting a kids party at the gym is also a healthy decision. With childhood obesity creeping into America more and more each year, it's important for parents to keep their children active. There's nothing more fun than exercising on a giant trampoline! Children will burn loads of calories at a gym party.

When you first become a parent, you get excited thinking about your kid's birthday party. In fact, you can spend hours planning the perfect celebration. However, as your child gets older and the local party packages at the pizza place seem more like a headache than they're worth you quickly lose enthusiasm over birthday parties. However, with a kid's birthday party at a gym you can relax and let the kids have a great time.

Hosting a kid's birthday party at a gym is a great birthday party idea. Most gym packages include the gym taking care of all details. So, you'll not be required to bring a cake, decorations or anything else. Most locations will also give you free invitations to send to guests. All you are required to do is show up on the party day! From setup to cleanup, everything is taken care of for you.

Another benefit to hosting a kid's birthday party at a gym is the opportunity you're giving your child to play and be active. Instead of wasting time on playing video games and cramming their stomachs with unhealthy pizza, you'll be offering them a healthy birthday party option. Other parents will be thrilled with your healthy choice as well, and happily bring their children along for the birthday fun.

Kid's birthday party ideas are usually quite expensive. However, birthday parties at the gym are very affordable. Each party has a party host or hostess, which allows you to sit back and relax on the busy day. They show children how to work all equipment and ensure everything is used properly throughout the party.

Parents of children are often burned out from the traditional birthday pizza parties or skating parties by the time their child hits age 5. They are always looking for a new and creative place to have a cool kids birthday party.

Today, gyms are the ideal cool kids birthday party place. Many offer birthday packages and allow children to not only have a fun-filled birthday experience, but also get in shape at the same time.

Some benefits to a gym birthday include:

1. With a gym birthday, the children are able to burn off their energy, fat and calories. The great part is they don't even realize they're being so healthy! By running around the gym and having fun, they are able to stay healthy and fit throughout the party. Meanwhile, parents are always thrilled to take home an exhausted child for a restful night!

2. Gym birthday packages often include full-standard services. This can include the gym staff doing everything for the party's preparation. The staff can do all set-up, decorating, paper product set-up, clean-up, direction of children during the party and more. They often provide the cake, ice cream and even birthday invitations! All the family needs to do is show up!

3. A typically birthday party gym package includes the use of the gym area without outside guests. This means the gym is completely for the use of the birthday party and guests. This is a great way to cut down on noise and chaos other party locations often feature when they have six birthday parties going on at once.

Birthday party games are a traditional part of all kid's birthday celebrations. Most adults remember spending many birthdays pinning the tail on the donkey and playing other fun games. While birthday party games are still fun to partake in, there are a few rules parents should remember when planning any kids birthday party games.

1)Safety first! Anyone who's watched America's Funniest Home Videos understands the tragic ending to many unsafely monitored party games. Time and time again people are injured with the hitting object in pinata events. So, all parents should be sure they are safely supervising all party games and ensuring no one is injured during the fun.

2)Include Everyone! Most parents forget children are not as good at losing or not participating as adults are. In fact, while kids all want to be a part of everything, it's almost impossible to get adults to play. So, when planning birthday party games it's important to be sure to plan games where all kids can have a turn.

3)Prizes Galore! If you are planning to offer prizes for the winner of birthday party games, be sure you have consolation prizes for the kids who don't win. This will ensure everyone will go home a "winner".

Birthday party games like "break the pinata" or "pin the tail" are quite fun. A new game to try however requires you to wrap a new book (the prize) in multiple layers of different birthday papers. The children sit in a circle and pass the package. Each child takes one layer of paper off of the package. The child who removes the final layer, keeps the prize! If there are more than five children, you may want to have two packages passing at the same time.

Birthday parties are no only about playing games and eating cake anymore. The longer the party lasts, the more likely that it is that you will need to serve a meal as well. Finger foods are often the easiest to make and certainly to clean up after the party.

To really make it a great party with great food, try using bright colors. If the foods are bland, then the children will be less likely to eat them. Just a few drops of food coloring can draw the attention of the kids. Having purple cheese on their pizza or green ham on their finger sandwiches can be fun for little children.

If you plan to provide juices for the drinks buy something that is green or blue, as everyone knows blue foods always taste better. Cut sandwiches into different shapes or shapes that are associated with the theme that you have devised for the party.

Provide a wide variety of foods too. Each child is different and children tend to be very picky about their foods. If there will be a number of adults there as well, consider having some larger versions of the same foods. A great option for cake is to bake individual cakes or cupcakes.

You can decorate each one with the child's name or even buy a number of decorates, such as sprinkles and different colored icings and let the children decorate their own. Provide wet paper towels, as this can become very messy if the children are younger. Fun foods can make a party more entertaining.

Birthdays are always special events for children. Making each one a lasting memory that they enjoy, is something to strive for when planning. An important step when planning an outdoor party is to be prepared for all types of weather. If you are unsure of whether it will be cool or raining on the date of the party, perhaps it would be appropriate to have the party in an area that also has an indoors area, or a tent so that it can be brought indoors.

Provide age appropriate games and prizes for those that will attend the party. Having games that are too advanced or not advanced enough will cause the children to be bored quickly and that is not how you want your children to remember their birthday party. Having an age appropriate party length is also important.

Parties that are too long for young children can cause them to be grumpy. Also remember to plan around activities and schedules that your children already have. If you have small children who nap daily from 12-2, do not plan the party to cut into their nap times. This will cause them to be tired and cranky during the party.

Provide easy, fun finger foods. If the party is to be in the middle of the afternoon, it is easier to just provide cake and drinks, while if it is close to lunch or dinner time, you may want to provide a full, child appropriate meal for them. Make each party special for your child, so they will have happy memories for many years to follow.

Birthday parties for children are always a bit of a dicey issue. On the one hand, you want to give your children the best possible experience, provide oodles of fun and excitement, look the other way when they eat junk food and sugary snacks, while on the other hand you do not want to have your home destroyed, spend a small fortune, or deal with a group of kids on a sugar high and sensory overload.

This has enticed many a parent to contemplate a party away from home, and a plethora of venues have sprung up which are willing to host your child's party. Where to host kid's birthday parties, when you are choosing to do so away from your home, in large part depends on your budget and your child's interest.

Museums, activity centers, and even some restaurants are now getting in on the action and many times you will have the option of spending a set amount of money in return for a certain amount of time at the tables, including food and drinks.

In a few cases, some basic entertainment will also be included. Of course, depending on your child's interests, this may be more money than you had bargained for, and it is not unheard of to spend upward of $300 or more on such a party.

In the same vein, you will find that the necessary pruning of the guest list sometimes presents more of a challenge to the child than you had anticipated and it is at this juncture that you will need to decide where to host kid's parties.

In the end you may find that your child just cannot do without some of her or his friends and your planning will have been for nothing.

There are instructional videos on dancing, yoga and aerobics for children of all ages. Fitness programs, clubs and classes such as gymnastics like those at the kid inspired my gym are all the rage.

As Americans have become the most obese nation on the planet we find that it is time to take control of our children's futures by showing them that exercise is fun as well as important.

By setting a healthy fitness foundation our children are more likely to lead healthier lives and lessen their chances of becoming obese adults. An hour of play each day is the rule.

Take walks with your kids or set up a homemade obstacle course in the back yard. Kids can crab walk around the yard and skip rope then hopscotch to the finish line. Encourage your youngsters to participate in an age appropriate sport such as soccer or t-ball.

They can increase their motor skills, build strength and begin learning good sportsmanship. The key is to always ensure that the physical activities that your children are involved in are actually enjoyed.

If you find that the activity is unpleasant find out why and see if he or she can work through it. If not allow them the possibility to trade the activity for something else.

The fact that we understand how important exercise is to our children and their health is vital to the health of our nation in the future. We can prevent our children from suffering through diabetes, heart disease and other ailments caused by obesity and lack of exercise. Building a love for fitness at a young age will set our children up for a healthy long life.

For many children it can be a choice between the same old kid's birthday party themes such as princesses for girls and super heroes for boys. Why not let your child come up with a theme of their own?

You can have them think of their favorite sport, hobby or something they are passionate about and create a party theme around this.

An example of this is an outer space party. You can decorate the room with paper mache planets and colorful homemade shooting stars. Create fun games with a space related twist.

Musical chairs can be musical space shuttles and you can pin the helmet on the astronaut. Party favors for themed events like this can be found in bulk online or at a party store. A uniquely themed children's birthday party can make a lasting memory for your child and their party guests.

A great place to get inspiration for any theme is your local library. Visiting the children's library section can fill you and your child with numerous ideas for creating a one of a kind celebration for his or her birthday party.

Craft books can help you to create party favors that can be modified to fit the party theme. You can make paper mache decoration, even your own homemade pinata.

Don't feel overwhelmed if your child asks for something unique like an Antarctica party. Simply read over the basics about the place, the person or the subject that your child desires and let your own imagination take you to success in building a unique birthday theme. You can also look online for inspirational ideas for birthday party games and party favors.

There are wholesale merchants online who can offer you related items to add flare to your party's atmosphere. You don't have to be elaborate as you can often use toys or materials around your home to add into your party decor. Basically have fun and go with whatever idea your child sees an interest in.

Why spend a fortune on over priced and poorly manufactured kids party games when you can create your own. Make the classics such as pin the tail on the donkey, beanbag toss and musical chairs but with a party theme twist. For example for your little princess make a pin the slipper on Cinderella game.

For your little Ninja fan pin the Chinese fighting star on the ninja (in the palm of his hand, no violence). Need a beanbag toss idea easy? Take some theme inspired fabric and stuff with rice. Stitch closed and you have your beanbag. Make yourself a captain hook cut out with three holes one in his hook hand, one in his peg leg and one through his hat. Each hole is worth a specific point (1,2 or 3). You do the same thing for a girl's party. Simply pick a character and cut out some holes.

If you don't feel very crafty or creative you can purchase a poster that goes along with your theme and trace three holes then cut them out. If you are looking for something more unusual or unique you can search kid party games online.

An example of this is the shoebox race. You need two shoeboxes, two pairs of mittens, and a bag of mini tootsie rolls, two bowls and two bells. Hang the bells over two plies of tootsie rolls.

Divide the kids into two teams. Have two of the children put the shoeboxes on their feet and the mittens on their hands. Have the kids shuffle down to the bell and ring it with their noses. Then pick up a tootsie roll and shuffle back to the start line where they will drop the tootsie roll into the bucket. The team who gets the most tootsie rolls in their bucket wins. It's silly but fun and that's what kids birthday party games are all about.

Who says you have to buy a party game pack full of fancy birthday games? Instead you can use some basic and simple party games that kids really enjoy. There is something that is thrilling to kids when they put on a blindfold, are spun three times and told to attach a fake donkey tail to a paper donkey.

Fill up some balloons with air and let the kids pop them by sitting on them. It becomes a contest as they begin to bounce and slide trying to pop the plastic. Musical chairs is always fun and can be done with a few children or a lot.

You can make your own bean bag toss with a piece of card board, a poster and a homemade bean bag made from fabric and rice. Tape the poster to the cardboard after you have cut three spaced out circles. The kids can toss the beanbag through each hole for a specific point value. Whoever scores the most points wins? A scavenger hunt is another great activity.

Create a list of about ten items with a list of clues of where to find the hidden items. The kids can work together in pairs or as two separate teams. This game is great because it can be done inside or outdoors. Feeling silly? You can play a zany game of shoebox race. Kids wear shoeboxes as they shuffle towards a pile of tootsie rolls.

Above the tootsie rolls is a suspended bell. The kids ring the bell with their nose; grab a tootsie roll and shuffle back towards the start line where they drop the tootsie roll into a bowl.

The kids are divided into teams and the team with the most tootsie rolls in three minutes wins. It is fun to watch and fun to play. Simply be creative and think about the classic birthday party games from when you were young. They are still a blast today and will make any party fun.

One of the most popular games at children's birthday parties is always pass the parcel. Unlike games which require athletic ability, dexterity or inventiveness, this is a game which every child can enjoy and in which every child stands a chance of winning a prize.

Playing pass the parcel can be as exciting as winning it, so make sure that every layer is fun. Children will be delighted if each layer looks different from the last. Use brightly colored paper or patterned wrapping paper with favorite children's themes. Using a lot of sticky tape can make peeling off layers messier and therefore more fun, but it can be too difficult for small hands, so consider the age of the children whom your parcel is for.

Some parcel-makers now include a small gift inside every layer of the parcel. This can be something as simple as an uninflated balloon (be ready to help blow it up!) or a plastic insect. If you think this is spoiling children and making them inclined to be too selfish with the parcel, put small gifts inside some layers and forfeits in others.

These can be things like 'stand on your head' or 'wear a red clown nose for the rest of the game'. They should encourage children to make fun of each other but, obviously, only in a light-hearted way; the victims should also be able to laugh at themselves.

When choosing the present for the middle of the parcel, think carefully about who will be playing - don't choose a prize which boys will think is too girly or which younger children will be unable to use, for instance. You should also avoid choosing a heavy prize, as the parcel will often slam into children when being passed rapidly.

An alternative version of pass the parcel involves passing an unwrapped (and preferably sturdy) object, with whoever is holding it when the music stops being out. The last child to remain then wins a prize. This is great if you're disorganized and haven't had time to put a proper parcel together.

However you go about it, you'll find that pass the parcel remains a favorite at all children's birthday parties. It's so much fun, you'll want to join in yourself!

Children's birthday parties are always potentially fraught. The child whose birthday it is will often have been excited for days, not sleeping properly and building up expectations of the big day which it's simply impossible to satisfy.

Meanwhile, guests may find it difficult to spend a whole afternoon or evening focusing on somebody else, and may start to get jealous of the attention the birthday child is receiving. Combine this with high-energy activities, social pressure and an excess of sugary foods, and it's a wonder everybody doesn't lose it.

It's rare to get through a children's birthday party without somebody throwing a tantrum, so you should always do what you can to prepare for it in advance. The first and most important thing is to isolate the unhappy child from the others. You don't want that unhappiness spreading. You also don't want other children seeing the difficult child get attention - it sets a bad example and makes them feel as if they're losing out on account of being good.

Set aside a quiet room and take the unhappy child there. It's a good idea to have some calming things in this room - bears to hug, perhaps, and provision for quiet activities like reading or drawing. Make sure there's a comfortable place to lie down with a pillow and a blanket, so that the child can have a nap if they need one. Don't insist that they try to sleep - they'll deny that they're tired - but offer them the option.

It's important to make a child throwing a tantrum feel that you're concerned for them without making them feel rewarded. Don't shy away from being patronizing in your approach - be kind to them, but treat them as you would a younger child, so that they know the impression they've made on you is one of being babyish.

Place the responsibility firmly on them to behave themselves better if they want to be respected, and make t clear that rejoining the fun of the party depends on good behavior. Many children will only need a bit of space in which to calm down before they understand that this is true.

Don't forget, birthday parties are tiring for everyone, so give yourself the opportunity to take breaks, too. You don't want to end up feeling like you're about to throw a tantrum yourself!

One of the most popular approaches to children's birthday parties is fancy dress, but it can be a difficult thing to organize. If you're holding a fancy dress party for your child, how can you make sure that it goes well and everyone involved has a good time?

Most fancy dress parties have themes. It's possible to run them without, but many children (and even some parents) will have difficulty coming up with costume ideas without that bit of extra prompting. Themes encourage people to be more creative. However, not every good party theme works for fancy dress. It's easy to dress up as a fairy tale character or a pirate, but harder to dress up in a fun way for a inflatables or racing car theme. Obviously, the most important factor in choosing the theme is what your child wants, but you'll need to plan together to come up with something suitable.

Prizes for the best costumes are now so common at fancy dress parties that children expect them and will be upset if you don't include them. Including two runners-up as well as an overall winner will help to decrease aggressive competition. You should be clear from the start that costumes bought or hired for the occasion won't be considered for the prize. This will make sure that the same advantaged children don't win at every party they go to. Try to keep in mind not only what looks impressive but also what represents impressive imaginative effort and what has been the most trouble to create.

Inevitably, some children arrive at fancy dress parties without costumes, often because their parents simply haven't been willing to help them. To avoid these children feeling left out, and to avoid diluting the party theme, try to have some simple costumes available for them to borrow. These can include things like cardboard masks and paper hats which are easy to make and cost next to nothing. Face paints also help children to be creative with last-minute costumes.

Fancy dress children's birthday parties can be lots of fun for everyone, so make sure your children get to experience the excitement of hosting them.

Throwing a surprise party for an adult can be difficult, but when a child is involved it's really quite an art. Yet surprise children's birthday parties can be worth the effort. Done right, they'll be among your kids' fondest memories of childhood. A birthday is the most exciting event of a child's year, and a surprise party just makes it more so.

The first difficulty you'll encounter in planning a surprise party for your child is that your child will expect a party of some sort. Obviously you won't want to leave them upset and disappointed for weeks, thinking that nothing is going to happen. For this reason, it's best to arrange an alternative special event. Ideally, this will get your child out of the house, leaving you with time to prepare and get everybody there.

A trip to the zoo, to a sporting event or to the cinema, perhaps in the company of a best friend, can keep your child happy for a couple of hours without exhausting them - because after all, they'll need to have some energy left over.

Telling your child's friends that they're invited to a secret party is, unfortunately, right out. Excited children can't be expected to keep quiet about such things. For this reason, you'll need to plan the event not with them but with their parents, who can tell them on the day after your child is out of the way.

Your child's school may be able to help you make contact with the parents if you don't already know them, as well as advising you on any close friends your child may have whom you haven't yet met. Children are usually uninterested in what adults have to say to each other, but be careful about making phone calls from the house where you may be overheard.

A surprise party needs to have a proper impact, so make sure that everyone has plenty of warning as your child arrives home, and that everyone is ready to jump out and shout "Surprise!" You should have a birthday cake ready and games about to begin so that the fun can take off right away.

Surprise children's birthday parties can be difficult to put together, but they're worth the effort. They'll give your child a truly special day.

Painting is one of those activities for kids which is guaranteed to entertain - but it can be a nightmare for the adults looking after them! Spilled paint, stained clothing, children daring each other to drink the water they've been washing their brushes in - it's hard work to supervise, especially with a large group, and it's in groups that children find activities like this most fun.

The trick, of course, is to keep them out of trouble by keeping them focused on what they're supposed to be doing. That's much easier of you're working on something with a bit of mystery to it - something like butterfly painting.

When you're painting butterflies, you'll start off by using just half of the paper. Draw a pencil line down the middle or fold the paper over so that the kids don't get confused. Give them bright watercolors or poster paints and encourage them to paint right up to the folded edge. They should be painting just one side of a butterfly - two overlapping wings and a slim dark body with a feeler at one end.

The important part is, of course, the wings. Children will love using vivid colors to bring these to life. They'll compete to have the best butterfly design. Encourage them to use their imagination and keep talking to them throughout, asking them about their choices. If they're stuck for ideas, help them by showing them some pictures of real butterflies or of the sort of flowers the butterfly might want to feed from.

When the painting has been finished, dampen the paint on the paper if it's dried. Then fold the paper over so that the painted part prints a mirror image onto the other half of the page. When you unfold it again, you'll see a beautiful butterfly!

This is one of the most popular activities for kids because it gives them exciting pictures to compare, and they'll love to see their artwork displayed on the walls. They'll enjoy butterfly painting so much, you'll find them remarkably little trouble. Much like a butterfly emerging from a cocoon, each unfolded picture is a surprise.

It's never easy to plan for a child's birthday party, but it becomes even more difficult when you have multiple age groups to consider. Children of large families may have brothers and sisters or cousins attending, some of whom may bring friends of their own. With younger children, where even small age gaps can make a big difference, your child's own close friends may vary sufficiently in age to have very different needs. How can you cater for children of different ages at one event?

The answer is two fold. Firstly, you should look for the things which children of all ages enjoy. Food is a good place to start - it doesn't often become stigmatized as babyish, and if you find that some girls protest they're worried about their weight you can assure them that special occasions like parties mean it's okay to enjoy treats. Games involving physical skills like balance and dexterity can also be a good way to cross the age divide, and team games mean that you can spread out any advantage that might be enjoyed by the older ones.

Secondly, you can make sure older children don't get bored at birthday parties by encouraging them to take some responsibility for the younger ones. Talk to them and let them know some of your worries. Don't give them chores which will spoil the party atmosphere for the, but do give them the chance to volunteer. This will make them feel that they're respected for the more mature qualities they value. Let them contribute to the direction of the party, for instance by getting them to help with choosing music.

At a mixed ages party, it's all the more important to have some quiet space for kids who're finding it all a bit too much. This is important for small children who may need naps and also for older ones who may need some private space to reassert themselves. Having another available activity, such as a computer game, can give them a valuable chance to escape for a bit.

Running mixed ages parties can be hard work, but by taking the time to consider different children's needs you can be sure of still putting on a successful event.

Children's birthday parties are the biggest events of kids' years. One of the things they look forward to most is the food. If you're organizing a party for your child, it's vital to get the catering right. But how can you be sure of doing so?

As every parent knows, catering for one child can be difficult enough. Kids are notoriously fussy and will turn down food based on color, shape or association even if they don't object to the taste. At a birthday party where everybody is supposed to be having fun you can't very well sit them down and order them to finish their food before they leave the table. So what can you do?

The key is variety. You'll need to have lots of different types of food and, where possible, variations on each type. Jam tarts can be made in different flavors. Small cakes can be made with different colored icing. Gingerbread can be cut into different shapes - animal or vehicle shapes are usually popular.

Sandwiches for children's birthday parties should be as simple as possible. Use white bread and don't combine fillings, as this is more likely to raise objections. It's a good idea to avoid peanut butter sandwiches (and other nut based dishes) altogether, as nut allergies are increasingly common among children these days and can be caused by something as simple as a vulnerable child holding hands with one who has been eating nuts. Ask parents beforehand to find out if there are any other allergy issues you should know about.

Sandwiches served to children should be cut from quarter slices of bread so that they're appealingly bite sized. Try to apply this rule to all the food you serve. Larger items can look intimidating to children and often mean that they don't eat as much altogether. Try to serve plenty of interesting savory options (hedgehogs made with bits of cheese on cocktail sticks stuck into oranges remain a favorite) to discourage them from eating so much sugary food that they become hyperactive.

The crowning glory of any children's birthday party is, of course, the cake. This is your child's special prize, so it should be made according to your child's preferences, however peculiar they may be. Children love cakes made in exotic shapes, and they love unusual edible cake decorations. The internet makes it easy to find ideas and supplies you can use to prepare such things at home.

Above all, remember that children's birthday parties are about having fun. If you let yourself have fun being creative with the food, the result will be appreciated.

When throwing a child's birthday party you first have two choices for location: at home or out of the home. If you choose outside the home you are then given several other choices. Three of the favorite locations to celebrate at are a local park, a children’s play place or a children’s gymnasium. Each of these locations offers a fun time that will be sure to make a great birthday memory.

The first location mentioned is a local park. If weather permits this is a simple and classic choice. You contact your local parks and recreation department to reserve a picnic area or shelter. Once you have this under your belt you will want to gather your decorations for the area.

Throw up a few balloons and streamers and you are ready for the party. Children can have cake at the picnic tables and once food and gifts are finished the kids can enjoy the playground equipment. You get free entertainment! Clean up is also a breeze. Throw away all of your trash in the containers provided by the park. This is a great choice, but so are our next two locations.

A children’s play place is usually requested for at least one birthday party. You call ahead and give the number of guests and pay a deposit to hold your reservation. You supply the birthday cake but the play place usually decorates the table and supplies hats and usually pizza. Kids can enjoy games and play equipment after the birthday cake and gift giving. This is usually a popular choice but can be more expensive than our first choice.

Our last choice and often the most unique are reserving a birthday bash at a local children’s gymnasium franchise. You call ahead set up the reservation, and a deposit may or may not be required depending on the company. Once again in most cases you supply the cake, but some companies go the extra mile and supply it all.

Children get to enjoy cake and gift giving and then get to explore gymnasium equipment, with staff supervision of course. This can be a great way for kids to enjoy a new experience.

Each choice for your child's birthday celebration is fun and exciting. You can’t go wrong with any of these choices. After all birthdays do come each year so why not try each location.

With the change of seasons and the weather children are forced to change which activities they are involved in. If they play outdoor sports they are then forced inside with the rain and snow. If the heat of summer meets record highs children are forced inside to cool down. Some of the indoor activities they are forced to choose are not very healthy.

Such activities include video games, extended Internet use and too mush television watching. Some of the more positive activities our children can be involved in all year around include gymnastics, ice-skating and dance classes.

Being able to participate in a year round activity that is both healthy physically and mentally is so important for kids. The three activities listed above fulfill this. Each of these activities are available in almost any town or city.

If you look up children's gymnasium franchise in your phone book or on the Internet you are sure to pull up several choice locations. The same goes for the other two listed activities. So no matter what the weather brings with each season children will be able to enjoy themselves each and every month.

Another great benefit from these activities is that each of them provides an excellent source of exercise. Childhood obesity has risen to an all time high in the United States and physical exercise is the cure. Not only physical exercise is included with these activities but mental strength is built up as well.

Endurance, perseverance and self-esteem are all learned with each of these activities. Studies prove that children who are involved in such activities show proof of improved grades in school and lower percentages of peer pressure related choices such as drugs and alcohol.

No matter which of these activities you choose they are safe, fun and healthy. They are for all ages and for both boys and girls to enjoy. You can’t go wrong with any of them. So try something new and have 365 days of fun!

There is really only one key to throwing a fun children's birthday party "think like a kid".

If you think about what you or I enjoyed as kids, I'm sure one of the first things that comes to mind is candy! This one word seems to make the world go round for kids.

Second thought we have is usually fun! Games, toys and anything that makes you smile.

Third, you might go back to candy. Sometimes as adults we try too hard to make our children's birthdays into a fancy swanky event when we don't have to.

Keep the next tips in mind and you are sure to have a fun and memorable party for your kids.

Number one is to get them involved. Unless it's a surprise birthday party, kids should be involved. They will love to participate any way they can. Let them choose a theme. You may be surprised what they come up with. Pirates, princesses and jungle exploration oh my!

If your child is creative or just loves to draw and paint, let them help make their own party decoration. Use cardboard, poster board, fabric and anything that they find interesting to make their decorations. How excited they will be to say "made that".

Number two is to let them invite whom they want to the party. If fifty invitations are passed out, do your best to be prepared. Remember this does not have to be extravagant. Make small gift bags that include candy and a party horn or some colorful stickers.

If cake prices seem to be a bit too much, cupcakes are a fun alternative. You can even let the kids decorate a cupcake with different topping choices like nuts or sprinkles. It may be messy, but the fun the kids have make it all worth it.

Just because you invite and prepare for a full house, doesn't mean that will be what turns out, which can be good or bad, depending how you choose to take it.

Number three is the charm. Be sure to include some fun activities. Create a beanbag toss out of cardboard, beans and fabric. Play musical chairs or pin the tail on the donkey. These games are classics and always please a crowd of kids.

A prize for the game winners is optional, depending on time and budget for the party. You can visit a local dollar type store for some low priced prizes that will be loved no matter the price.

If you read this and still feel overwhelmed, don't be. If you don't wish to do it yourself, you can make reservations at a children's gymnasium franchise or a children's play place. They will set up decorations and entertainment for you. No matter how you do it or where you do it, the party is sure to be a hit when you follow the above guidelines.

Few things are more important to children that their birthdays, so if you're organizing your kid's birthday party you'll be anxious to get everything right, down to the last little detail. The very last detail, of course, is what the children take home with them - every kid's birthday party these days has to end with the distribution of goodie bags.

Here are ten ideas to help you create kids' birthday party goodie bags which will go down a treat.

1 - Candy! This may be an obvious choice, but no kid's birthday party would be complete without it. Of course, it's also bad for teeth, so you won't want to provide too much of it. Choose bright colors and unusual shapes over large quantities of familiar candies.

2 - Erasers. These are available in all sorts of interesting shapes and colors which an be matched to the kids' birthday party theme you've chosen.

3 - Noise Makers. Simple, cheap, but very loud. Don't give these out until the very end of your kid's birthday party or your poor sore ears will cause you to regret it, but the children will always have a great time with them.

4 - Balloons. Remember that kids may have difficulty blowing these up themselves, so you should be on hand to help if they want to inflate them before they go home. Bear in mind that sometimes unpredictable fashions will lead to every child wanting the same color of balloon, so keep some spares ready for arranging swaps.

5 - Hair Accessories. Little girls will love these and will talk about them proudly at school, increasing your child's popularity. Be wary of fickle fashion changes, though - ask your child or an experienced shop assistant for advice before you buy.

6 - Cars. They may seem old fashioned, but small model cars remain a favorite, especially with little boys. They'll give them something to play with at home after the immediate excitement of your kid's birthday party is over.

7 - Bookmarks. Brightly colored, unusual bookmarks are not only aesthetically appealing, they encourage children to read. The most popular choices are often those associated with currently popular children's books, so ask your local book store for advice.

8 - Coloring Pencils. Available in little packs, each containing several different shades, these will provide hours of fun after your kid's birthday party has finished.

9 - Torches. Mini flashlights will make kids feel sophisticated and grown-up; they can also be useful tools. They're great to play with if guests are leaving your kid's birthday party after dark.

10 - Keyrings. These can be matched to your kid's birthday party theme. Children will love to compare them at school as they discuss what a great time they had!

Often hosting a kid's birthday party will be the first experience a person gets of managing large groups of children. It can be an exhausting experience, ans trickier than you might imagine. Whilst individual children tend to know when they're had enough of something and are comparatively easy to distract, children in groups will push their limits in an attempt to impress one another.

They'll overtire themselves and end up bursting into tears, collapsing with exhaustion or behaving aggressively under all that extra social pressure. For this reason, knowing how to pace activities is one of the most important aspects of running a successful kids' birthday party.

When guests arrive at your kid's birthday party they'll be full of excitement and bursting with energy, so it's a good idea to burn off some of that energy by kicking off with active games. Make sure that these have an open format (i.e.: they don't require particular numbers of children or need everyone involved to have been there all the way through) so that latecomers can join in.

Two or three games like this can be played until the children are showing signs of tiredness; then switch to a quieter game like pas the parcel.

Never bring out the cake at a kids' birthday party whilst the guests are still in a wild, excitable state. At that stage, sugar is the last thing they need! Food should be served about halfway through, after they've calmed down a bit. Run a quiet game immediately afterwards so that they don't upset their digestive systems, then return to more active games to help them burn off some of the sugar they've consumed.

This will help to prevent them from becoming irritable. Finally, return to quieter games. If they're reluctant to behave during these, a great option is to play a game where success depends on being quiet and still. Hide and seek can work well, as can 'dead fishes', where the children lie on the floor and try not to move, the last one to successfully keep still being the winner.

Careful pacing will ensure that guests leave your kid's birthday party feeling tired but happy, with no tantrums and no fights.

Children grow up so fast that every birthday is a precious time, and few things matter more to children than having a good time on their special day. It's a time when they'll want to enjoy their favorite things and impress their friends - so how can you guarantee throwing a kids' birthday party which will do the job?

It's impossible to put together a successful kid's birthday party without good forward planning. Always make sure that invitations go out at least three weeks in advance - you don't want your child missing out because of a clash. Make sure there aren't going to be any other important events happening at the same time.

Giving plenty of notice for your kid's birthday party will also give attendees the chance to work on finding suitable presents and on finding the right clothes to wear. This is especially important if you're holding a costume party, which children love. Keep in mind, though, that there's always a risk of some kids turning up without costumes. To make sure they don't feel left out, keep some simple costume supplies, like cardboard masks and paper hats, ready to supply in emergencies.

One of the most important parts of any kid's birthday party is the cake. A good birthday cake should always have a theme, whether it's part of a wider party theme or just based on one of your child's favorite things. It's important to think carefully about what your child prefers, even down to the color scheme. If you're handing out party hats, which are always popular at a kids' birthday party, make sure your child doesn't miss out on their favorite color hat.

Although you may not have been used to it in your day, guests at every modern kids' birthday party expect to leave with a goody bag. If you're not sure how to assemble a kids' birthday party goody bag, you can find some online as complete packages, but they're really quite simple to make up. Sweets are popular of course. Small toys, erasers, puzzles and fortune cookies also go down well.

With a bit of careful planning and preparation, you'll be able to make sure that everybody has a great time at your kids' birthday party.
