When it comes to serving food and beverages at a kids party you have to think simple and kid friendly. Finger foods and make your own items are always a big hit. You can set up a pizza bar where kids can put sauce, cheese and other toppings of their choice on a mini pizza. This keeps children from whining that they don't like this or that on their pizza.
You can use this same method with nachos, tacos and more. Kids love to create and what better way to make your party food fun by allowing them to create their own meal. You can also substitute cake for cupcakes and allow your party guests to decorate this sweet treat. It's also a good idea to serve punch or juice in place of soda as they contain less sugar.
The kids will already get rowdy and jazzed up over the party games and activities, sugar is a needless party favor. Remember to prepare items in advance, keep the items simple and choose kid favorites. This will keep the kids and the parent host happy for the big event.
Don't fear to ask your child and their guests pre party what they would like to nosh on. This is a sure fire way to pick the foods that all of your little guests will enjoy. Keeping your guests happy can be the icing on the cake in party success. You will feel satisfied with your choices and be ready for your next party planning adventure.Labels: activities, childhood, fun, games

Gymnastics are an excellent way for children to get the physical activity needed for their health while enjoying themselves and having fun. You do want to ensure that your child is in an appropriate age level class.
Gymnastics offers classes for children who are toddler age up through adulthood. Speaking to gymnastics coach or other location official will allow for more detailed age/lesson class information. Toddlers can enjoy summer salts and other areas of physical movement in a tumbling class. As children enter school age classes and so on courses in gymnastics offer more stimulating challenges such as parallel bars and balance beams.
The positive area of choosing gymnastics for your child's fitness choice is that it meets the three main components for complete physical fitness. These components include endurance, strength and flexibility. Your child or children will receive a full range of health benefits from building bone and muscle strength to becoming more limber which can better prevent sports injuries.
Gymnastics is not only healthy for the body but also for the mind. Completing challenges and seeing progress in ones abilities can increase self-esteem. Also the building of teamwork related skills are great for future use as an adult.
Gymnastics classes are often offered in most cities or towns. You can begin your search through your local phone directory. Tour the facility and speak to gymnastics professional for a better understanding of what is offered for your child. Both you and your child will be thankful in the end.Labels: activities, childrens, classes, exercise, fitness, gymnasium, gymnastics, kids

As we see childhood obesity and Diabetes on the rise, we as parents are looking for fun ways to add exercise into our children's lives. Through paying active games we can incorporate fitness as fun. Games such as hopscotch, jump rope and tag are classic childhood favorites that will help children to enjoy exercise.
When children participate in gym activities or field day fun such as relay races they are exercising without even realizing it. There are numerous activities that will build muscle and bone strength while creating a fun activity. Basketball, bicycling, succor and swimming are just a few fun child friendly exercises.
Try to ensure that children enjoy activities that offer the three principles of fitness. These principles include Endurance (tag), Strength (climbing across monkey bars) and Flexibility such as when doing the splits. Ensuring that a child performs an activity with the three above principles for an hour each day will assist children in becoming healthier and happier individuals.
Studies show that children who have consistent fitness activities in their lives sleep better and perform better in school. Regular exercise in a child's life helps them to build a healthier immune system to better fight colds and other viruses. They also run a decreased risk of type 2 diabetes.
A healthy balanced diet plays an important role as a balanced diet makes it possible for a child to perform fitness activities. For other fitness or nutrition tips you can find an abundance of information online. Remember to think fun and enjoy a round of horse with your kids.Labels: activities, childrens, fitness, gym, gymnasium, kids fitness nutrition health exercise

Childhood obesity is on the rise in the United States and there is frighteningly no sign of slowing. Children in today's day and age are surrounded with animated toys, video games and computer activities that keep them sedentary for most of their day.
Schools across the nation are creating budget cuts that threaten to remove recess and possibly gym classes. The American diet is packed full of processed foods that offer high calories and high fat with little nutritional value.
These factors combined create or cause our children to enter the category of obesity. The effects of obesity are even more alarming. Diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure and cholesterol are all effects of obesity that our children are suffering with.
As with adults when the body carries an excess of additional body fat the heart is forced to pump harder than normal causing stress on the heart. The faint thought of a child suffering a heart attack is nearly unfathomable. These health concerns can create a problem in their youth as well as continue into adulthood.
As children grow at a rapid pace a poor diet and excess weight can cause abnormalities in bone structure along with premature joint pain and wear. This is why we must take a stand against childhood obesity and focus on prevention as well as treatment.
Teach our youth to eat a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables and whole grains. Teach them that fitness in enjoyable as well as important. Childhood obesity is dangerous and we have to put a stop to this epidemic now.Labels: activities, childhood, childrens, classes, exercise, fitness, obesity

When it comes to getting our children involved in fitness activities it can prove to be difficult to compete with the television programs, video games and computers that fill our children's lives. The best way to get kids into a fitness activity is to make it into a game.
Kids don't see jump rope or hopscotch as a fitness activity but they are successful ways to get your heart pumping and those muscles moving. Be creative and always think fun. One of the best fitness games for kids is an obstacle course.
You can create an obstacle course in your own backyard. Use cones in a zigzag motion to run around, place a child swimming pool in one area to jump into or a play tunnel to crawl through. Designate an area for the crab walk or bunny hop. These activities are all exercises that can be a fun challenging way to get your kids up and moving by incorporating fun fitness games. Kids also like a fitness course.
Many city parks offer a fitness course where you can do pull ups, a balance beam and jumping jacks along a trail. Kids also love to compete with there parents. By incorporating these two and making it a race or competition, your kids will be having fun while adding exercise into their young lives.
You can also incorporate kid friendly sports as a way to add fitness game fun as a daily routine. Soccer, soft ball or ice skating can all be fun filled methods to allow your kids to have fun while caring for their physical health. These are also great for kids as they can share the experience with other children.
That is one reason why the game of tag is so fun for kids. There is a lot of running which is exercise, but kids see this as fun because they are concentrating on making their opponent it.
When it comes to getting our kids into daily fitness activities we have to keep in mind what they enjoy and whether or not it is safe for their growing bodies. Once this is done everyone can enjoy the fun as well as the health benefits of fitness games.Labels: activities, exercise, fitness, games, kids
