Is there an upside to children's exercise or is it just another thing that parents think they need to worry about? There is an upside to children who are physically fit and children's exercise is an issue that parents should take seriously.

When summer vacation begins, how do your children spend their time? Set up a budget. If you do this at the very beginning you will be able to figure out how many children can be invited, how much to spend on food and decorating and whether you can afford entertainment. Sometimes parents just go out and buy all kinds of things for the party and then realize they have spent far more than they wanted to.
Choose the date and send the invitations. If you send the invitations too early, people may forget, but if you wait too long to get the invitations out, the kids may have other plans. A month before the party is a good time to send the invitations. Don't be tempted to invite too many children.
Decide on the theme. Maybe your child is excited about Spiderman or Barbie. Some kids love the Sesame Street characters and others may prefer a party that centers on trains, farm animals or princesses. Most schools have cut the time children have to exercise. Many children spend free time at home parked in front of the television or computer screen. How can you get your kids off their behinds and into a program that supports physical activity?

As a parent you may have considered membership in a kid's gym and decided it was too costly. Let's reconsider.
Many children today are overweight and suffer from a lack of physical activity. They don't get the exercise they need to be healthy and they also eat foods that are full of fat, sugar and calories. Schools have cut recess periods and even reduced physical fitness classes. Kids need to concentrate on academics and this leaves little time for running and playing.
When children are not in school they are often very scheduled. Some of these activities are great for many reasons but they often don't involve much in the way of physical activity. Children join clubs and take part in music and drama classes. They may be in an art program or participate in 4-H or a scouting program. Most of these activities do not require much in the way of energy.
Many children do take part in sports. They play soccer, softball, football, tennis and basketball. They are part of the track team or play golf or wrestle. These activities do involve physical activity but when the kids are younger they may only practice for an hour a week and then play one game or take part in one meet. What if the children only are involved in one or two sports a year? What happens when they are not active the rest of the year?
So we come back to the question posed at the beginning of the article. Can you afford a kid's gym? Maybe the question should be; can you afford to NOT have your kids take part in a kid's gym?
When your children have a membership at a kids gym you will be assured that they have a good chance of getting in shape or staying in shape during the times they are not very physically active. Children learn new skills and are able to compete in a healthy atmosphere. They learn how to exercise properly. They gain the understanding of the importance of being physically fit.
Can you afford a kid's gym? The answer may be a resounding, "Yes!".

Do your kids need a formula for a successful exercise program? As parents you can come up with a children's exercise plan that your kids will love.
Now, the kids may not love the idea of exercise at first. This is especially true if they have gotten used to a sedentary lifestyle. Let's face it, it's easier to play computer games or watch cartoons than it is to get in shape. If you want your kids to be more active it is up to you to get a children's exercise program in place.
Parents who have plenty of time can set up the exercise plan themselves. Plan a children's exercise program that includes different activities. If you have more than one child you may also need to tailor the plan to fit various ages. The formula for a children's exercise program includes variation. Kids may get bored with the same activities.
One way of adding variations to the children's exercise program is to consider the different seasons. In the spring you may be able to get out the bikes or hit the walking trails. Summer gives you all kinds of choices like swimming, tennis and baseball. When fall rolls around you can hike and play football or soccer. Winter brings the opportunity in many parts of the country to put on the skates, skis or snowshoes. Of course some of these activities cross over from season to season.
Another part of a successful and acceptable children's exercise program is the fun factor. If it isn’t fun, the kids may revolt. Fun may include physical activities the kids can do by themselves and it may include activities that friends or family members are part of.
For parents who have really busy schedules or need some help with a children's exercise program, consider a kids gym. A kid's gym can provide a year-round plan that has been well thought out and is staffed by professionals. This is definitely a formula for success because kids will be surrounded by encouraging and supportive staff members. They will have a chance to try new physical activities and become even more skilled at the ones they have already learned. They will gain new experiences and have the opportunity to grow and excel.
The most important part of a successful children's exercise program is a parent's involvement and planning.

When you are ready to sign the kids up at a Children's fitness you may not be sure of what to look for, especially if this is a new experience for you. Children's gyms are good places for kids to exercise and get involved in physical activity. Checking the gym out before you sign up is a good idea.
The first letter in your search for a children's gym is A: Activity is the key word here. When you go for a visit to the children's gym look for at the level of activity. Are there several classes being offered and is there a sense of kids having fun while taking part in the planned activities? Take a look at the staff members and gauge their level of activity as well. Are they busy with the kids or are they spending their time talking to each other or doing other things.
The second letter in your search for a children's gym is B: Build is the key word here. Do you get the feeling after a tour of the facility that this is a place where your child can build a better understanding of exercise? Do you think your child can build on her strengths and learn new things in the area of exercise? Does it appear that those working with the children are building self-esteem through positive support and encouragement?
The third letter in your search for a children’s gym is C: Cleanliness is the key word here. Notice how the gym looks and smells. Is it clean and does the equipment look as if it is taken care of? Does the facility appear to be organized and maintained? This is an important consideration and one that should not be taken lightly.
After your tour of the children's gym you can ask to talk to one of the staff members who leads the classes. Ask any questions you may have and get a list of the classes and schedules. Many children’s gyms have classes for children of all ages. Some of the classes for really young children are designed so the parents are part of the class, too.
Let your child have a chance to look around the Children's fitness and talk to some of the instructors. You might even want to sit in on a class with your child.
Visit a children's gym and see if it offers the things you are looking for.
