Did you ever stop to think about all the things babies learn to do in the first 12 months of their lives? Infant physical development is all about growth and movement. Healthy eating is also important and getting the right amount of sleep.

Infant physical development can be fun when you pay attention to the developmental milestones and work with your baby to increase success in these areas. By the age of three months a baby should be able to hold a small object in her hand and hold her head up when lying on her stomach.

Some babies are rolling over and can push their bodies forward. At five months she will be able to reach for a toy and hold it briefly.

Infant physical development continues between six and seven months of age when the baby begins to transfer objects from one hand to the other as well being able to pick up small foods like Cheerios.

Babies of this age may start to crawl and by the time they are eight or nine months old they may begin to pull themselves up on things and even walk.

Besides playing with your baby you can increase infant physical development with exercise. Check out your local My Gym location. You may be surprised to see that we offer classes for infants.

Not only will your baby have a chance to discover her natural movement abilities but a parent will have the advantage of being a participant in the class, too.

Babies from three to eleven months will crawl and climb during the class time. Babies can also hang, swing and have their first tumbling experiences. These opportunities will improve the physical development of your infant.

Children's physical development is a very important issue. Children need to eat well and be active. Unfortunately many children today are not getting the daily exercise they need.

Children's physical development depends on kids participating in regular physical activity.
Many schools have cut physical education programs and are also shortening recess times. Lots of children go home after school, grab a can of soda, a bag of chips and settle on the couch for hours of television watching or video game playing. These things do nothing for a child’s physical development. (At least nothing good!)

As a parent there are several things you can do to increase your children’s physical development in a positive way.

Begin with the foods you eat and make some healthier choices. Eliminate most of the snacks that contain high amounts of fat and sugar or save these treats for special occasions. Watch the number of fast food meals consumed by your family each week.

Children’s physical development will improve when you add exercise to your daily routine. Choose activities that get the kids outside and moving. You can swim together or join a bowling team. Take the kids skiing or hiking rather than to movies or other sedentary activities.

You may decide to join a children’s gym. These gyms have developed programs specifically for kids of all ages. The classes are stimulating and involve learning and honing sports skill. Children’s physical development will be enhanced as the kids execute gymnastics moves and work on advanced tumbling skills.

Your children will enjoy participating so much that they won’t even realize their levels of fitness have increased. Children’s physical development can be improved with just a few changes. Find a My Gym Children's gym near you now...

Did you know that there are gyms that specialize in children’s fitness? These gyms have fantastic programs that have children’s fitness as there goal. Our gyms for kids are great places and they are geared to children of all ages.

Even the little ones can take part in gym time and there are specific programs tailored just for them. The kids will have a wonderful time and get fit at the same time.

Maybe you love the children’s gym but you want even more fitness time for the kids. Get the kids away from their sedentary television lifestyles and into a habit of exercise and fresh air.

Get the bikes out of the garage, dust them off and take a family bike ride. Put a leash on the dog and go for a walk several times a week. Give the kids roller skates or roller blades for birthday gifts and watch the fun begin right before your very eyes.

Encourage outdoor play with a trampoline. When it gets warm, set up a pool or sprinkler and join the kids for a little water fun. Fill up the water balloons or water cannons and chase each other around the yard or through the neighborhood.

Children’s fitness need not be a chore; turn it into an enjoyable experience.

Physical development for the toddler can be an important part of the child’s everyday life. There are all kinds of things that you can do to make sure your toddler develops physically.

Sometimes we worry more about the social and educational developments of our children but the toddler’s physical development is just as crucial.

There are several things you can assess when it comes to the physical development of your toddler. Is he getting lots of exercise each day and is the exercise developing his physical skills?

Toddlers love to push, pull, drag, dump and knock things over. This is a great form of exercise that will help increase toddler physical development.

Toddlers like to climb and become adept at small indoor steps. They are able to manipulate things and tend to explore more than show high levels of skill in this area. When a toddler turns two he should be able to kick and catch a small ball. He should also be able to string large items and turn knobs.

This is the time to increase the safety level in your home. Make sure the items being strung can not be swallowed. If you have knobs in your home that you do not want turned you should add safeguards.

A really good way to increase toddler physical development is to locate a children’s gym in your area. Children’s gyms have a wonderful array of physical activities for toddlers. There are exercise activities that will increase toddler physical development. You can also check into the actual classes for toddlers.

The My Gym franchised gyms have exercise classes that have been developed for toddlers. These classes are often offered for just the toddlers or for toddlers and a parent too.
