If you are having a hard time talking your kids into a fitness plan or if children's fitness is not something that sounds like fun to your kids you can prove them wrong.

Start with a children's fitness party. This is a great way to show your kids and their friends that children’s fitness can be fun.

Send out invitations that have an exercise theme. Let the kids help make the invitations and then start planning the food and activities.

There are many party foods that taste great and are also healthy. Fresh fruits and vegetables served with low-fat dip and pita chips are yummy choices. There are healthier versions of hot dogs, chips, salsa and frozen yogurt. Test the foods ahead of time and the kids can be part of the final menu choices.

Plan games that encourage a lot of movement. If the weather will be nice you can move the most or all of the party outside. A children's fitness party can include a soccer or football game. The kids can bring their roller skates or bikes. Have the children bring their bathing suits and take everyone to the pool.

Think about planning a mini-Olympics. There are all kinds of events that can be planned that will promote children's fitness. The kids can compete and be physically active all at the same time. They won't even realize that the goal is children's fitness!

If the weather will be cold you can plan an ice skating party or take the kids sledding. You could also rent a gym so the kids can play basketball or volleyball.

A children's fitness party will be a big hit and will get your kids on the road to better health and exercise.

If you are worried about your kid's health and your children’s fitness is at the top of your list, summer is a great time to get the plan going.

Children's fitness is easy during the summer months because there are so many opportunities.

When the weather gets warm head to the bike path or the neighborhood swimming pool. Sign the kids up for swimming lessons and get the summer children's fitness program off to a good start. The kids will have fun and start getting into shape at the same time.

Your city park may have all kinds of activities for children's fitness during the summer months. Kids can get involved and be active most weeks during the summer in these programs.

Summer camps often offer excellent camping experiences for kids that combine children's fitness with outdoor fun. If children's fitness is your goal be sure to ask questions and choose the camp that has the best selection of children's fitness programs.

Kid's gyms often have extra children's fitness programming during the summer. Get information about these children's fitness programs early because they often fill up quickly.

Instead of hours spent inside watching T.V. or playing video games send the kids outside and have them get out the trikes, Big Wheels and bikes.

Encourage the kids to try some new children's fitness equipment like pogo sticks or skateboards.
Summer is the best time of the year to begin children's fitness programs. The kids will have so much fun they won’t even realize they are getting in shape. Children's fitness plans are even more valuable when the whole family participates together.

When the weather is nice get the whole family outside and working on a project that combines children's fitness and family fun.

One children's fitness activity for families is to build a tree house or fort. This project will involve the family working together and the result will be a step toward children's fitness.

The entire family can take part in this children's fitness project. The plans can be made by the whole family and everyone can work together to get the fort or tree house built.

This is a great children's fitness project because each person can be physically active while building the tree house or fort and can continue being active when the project is completed.

A tree house or fort is a good way to get the kids outside where they can climb, jump and swing. Children's fitness at it's best!

Another idea for children's fitness that involves the great outdoors and the whole family is the planning of a miniature golf course. Family members can work together to plan the course and then put the whole thing together. The holes can be fun and challenging. Think about children's fitness while planning some of the holes. Design holes using old pieces of wood, game parts and other things sitting around the garage. This a fun family project that promotes children's fitness and requires the kids to spend time outside.

One more children's fitness activity that can benefit your family and others in your neighborhood is to invite everyone over for backyard games. There are many suggestions online that can help you plan these children's fitness games.

Have fun, involve everyone in your family and achieve children's fitness all at the same time!

There are daycare centers that have children's fitness opportunities. If you are a busy
parent and have a difficult time working a children's fitness program into your schedule
you may want to choose your daycare accordingly.

Look for a daycare center that has regular children's fitness activities. You may find a
daycare center that has exercise times scheduled each day. These centers may have
children's fitness activities for children of all ages, even infants and toddlers.

Most daycare centers have an outside area for children's fitness activities. Find out how
often these areas are used and for what activities. Many daycare centers have play
equipment outside and also have jump ropes, balls and Big Wheels or other riding toys.
Some daycare centers have inside areas dedicated to children's fitness activities. These
areas are large enough for the kids to run and play and also participate in an actual
exercise program.

You may be able to find a daycare center that has people to take kids to children's fitness
activities like swimming, dance or gymnastics. There are centers that provide time at
kid's gyms. The kids can play basketball or organized games.

If your older kids go to daycare during the summer and other school breaks it is important
that they are able to participate in children's fitness activities. Kids often spend many
hours a day at daycare and they should be active for at least part of that time.

You may also want to check out the meals and snacks served at the daycare center. If you
are concerned about your kid's health, the food is as important as the children's fitness
activities. Some centers offer healthier food choices than others do.

It is very possible to find daycare for your kids that will provide children's fitness
activities and healthy meals and snacks.

If you need some children's fitness ideas, get ready to take it outside! Outside is the perfect place to target children's fitness issues and get everyone in shape. Take the kids (and yourself) outside and enjoy some fresh air and exercise.

Yes, you may encounter a little resistance at first, especially if the family is used to video games, movies and reruns of their favorite shows. Children's fitness can be enjoyable if approached in a fun and positive way.

Take kids to the park and play games or fly kites. Walk on the paths or take a hike along the trails. Ride your bikes to and from the park if it's close enough and pack a healthy picnic lunch or supper.

Go to the zoo and spend a few hours walking through the exhibits. Children's fitness activities need not be boring and being outside at the zoo is healthy and fun.

Children's fitness activities for older children can include cross-country skiing, biking and snow shoeing. These fitness activities can be shared with friends as well as family members. Encourage kids to take part in these healthy activities and get involved yourself.

Plan children's fitness activities for each member of the family. Not everyone will enjoy the same thing but it's a good way to spend time together and learn about cooperation and getting along.

You can take part in children's fitness activities even if the weather is not perfect. Take a walk in the rain or after the first snowfall of the year. When it's really hot you can play outside early in the day or take a trip to the local pool.

Go outside and play with your kids, encourage children's fitness!
