With an increasing number of children in the developed world becoming obese, there's never been a more important time to focus on kid's fitness. Kid's exercise programs can help to turn around problem weight gain and get your kids in shape to get more out of life.

Perhaps you think of kid's exercise programs as something for professional trainers to design, something only accessible to the rich, but the reality is that they're easy to develop in your own home. Kid's exercise programs should focus on general aerobic fitness, not on building muscle, so no special equipment is needed.

The most successful kid's exercise programs are structured around activities which he kids involved already enjoy, because if the kids are enthusiastic they'll work a lot harder. If your child likes playing ball games or climbing things, incorporate this into a daily exercise routine.

Even enthusiasm for computer games can be made to work in your favor. See if you can persuade your child to play on a computer dance mat, or design games which involve running around with toy guns mimicking the activities in favorite games. The important thing is to get your child moving.

Kids' exercise programs need to be designed so that children get plenty of exercise every day, ideally several times a day. If you encourage physical activity as a break from mentally tiring things like homework, your child will come to see it as a reward, and the exercise will make your child more alert and better able to focus mentally afterwards.

Energetic physical exercise is important for burning fat and getting your child into good habits for later life, but kid's exercise programs should also contain an element of focus on flexibility, toning the body with stretches. Children tend to respond well to this if it's presented as a challenge.

They are often more flexible than the adults around them, so will feel pleased with themselves if they can outdo adults at things like touching their toes or bending backwards. Make sure that your children always feel special when they successfully complete challenges. Kid's exercise programs should be fun, and you'll see the difference in your child as they burn off fat and develop a renewed enthusiasm for life.
