Children are not getting the exercise they need, in school or at home. Many children face serious health issues because of a lack of exercise and poor eating habits. You can change this situation for your children by forming a children's exercise group.

Begin by talking to your children. Get their ideas and let them invite a few friends to be part of the children's exercise group. The next thing you will want to do is contact parents and plan a meeting time.

While the parents are meeting, the children can be included in the meeting or they can be participating in some physical activities like basketball, hopscotch or a mini-Olympics. You can hire a couple of high school students for a few hours to watch over these activities.

Talk to the parents and brainstorm activities for the kids. A children's exercise group will function really well with input and suggestions from others. Parents need to share the responsibilities and planning for the children's exercise group and also take turns hosting or driving. Snacks can be part of the plan although in keeping with the health goals, the snacks should be healthy as well.

Plan ahead and have some ideas ready to discuss during the meeting. You may want to suggest hiking, swimming and family exercise events. Another suggestion would be to have the kids participate in a kids gym. This is one of the best ways for children to learn how to exercise properly and have fun while doing it.

While it's true that people are busy and have schedules crammed full of activities, a children's exercise group is certainly one of the best ways kids can spend their time and become physically fit while doing it.
