Children's fitness does not have to be a tiring and boring activity. It does not have to be the time when groans and complaints are heard three blocks away. Combine children's fitness and parent's involvement and you have the recipe for family fun.

There are all kinds of physical activities the entire family can enjoy together. Not only will everyone garner the positive aspects of exercise but the whole family will grow closer together.

Not sure where to start? How about a walk or hike in a neighborhood park after dinner once a week? Dust off the bikes and ride on a bike path or throughout your neighborhood. Invite friends to join you.

Once or twice a month use a Saturday morning to take care of the chores that need to be done, both inside and outside the house. After the jobs are done you can head to the swimming pool or park for a game of basketball or softball.

When winter sets in and it's colder there are still things you can do that will combine children's fitness and family fun. Get out the ice skates or rent them at a skating rink. Round up the sleds and head for the hills. After a snowfall gather the family to build a snowman or snow fort.

Once the kids get used to more physical activity they will begin looking forward to these times. Everyone will be in better shape physically and your family will have great times together.

Keep this recipe and file it under Children's fitness.

Take one part children's fitness and combine it with one or two parts of parental involvement. Mix well and the result will be a huge serving of family fun.
