Have you ever observed a kid's fitness program? Perhaps you have been content so far to drop off your children at the local chapter of the YMCA and then pick them up again later, but if you have the opportunity, it would be worthwhile to take a look and see what is happening. You will be amazed at the plethora of activities the instructors will come up with to keep the speed up, the heart rate pumping, and the fun-level high.

A kid's fitness program utilizes age and size appropriate equipment. Obviously, using adult equipment will not work simply because little hands will have a hard time grasping the bars and handles, just like little ones will be afraid to use equipment that is very apparently not made for someone their size.

In addition to the foregoing, it is important to remember that many exercises that are done in kid's fitness center on gymnastic feats, such as loosening up muscles and enabling children to not loose their natural limberness that will be a great asset for a great many exercises.

Great exercises for a kid's fitness program include circuit training on a child-sized circuit, various exercises on the uneven bars, and a tumbling circuit that could incorporate cartwheels, handstands, and forward rolls. Standing back-bends would round out this kid-appropriate exercise program for great kid's fitness.

Some other equipment choices children will enjoy are ropes, junior balance beams as well as versa tubes for kids which will all serve as great interim exercises while other children are taking their turns on the bigger equipment.
