You can never underestimate the importance of children's fitness. In the same way that it is important for adults to exercise, children exercising is just as vital. Research shows that physical activity can increase your chances of having a healthy life. A child who routinely exercises can have the joy of not only being physically healthly but also mentally and emotionally happy.

Children's fitness can greatly decrease the chances of certain diseases and illnesses. It builds up their immune system and endurance. This is needed to help fight off certain viruses. Not only this, but childrens fitness can boost self esteem and raise a sense of self worth. There is a little known fact about childrens fitness, it is also proven to help enhance academic achievement. Because exercising promotes mental health, it increases the ability to learn. A child's grades could even increase by twenty percent.

Even though people know the importance of children's fitness, they still often do not heed the admonition to exercise. The Surgeon General has noted that half of the United States children do not participate in some type of vigorous children's fitness routine. So many children
are into the latest electronic gadgets and video games that it crowds out the time for exercise. This is a sad reality and more and more children are developing Type II diabetes, heart problems and obesity.

If you're worried that your children are not getting enough exercise, take the first step in encouraging them. Begin working out together as a family. You may also enroll your child into a children's fitness center.
