If you are having a hard time talking your kids into a fitness plan or if children's fitness is not something that sounds like fun to your kids you can prove them wrong.

Start with a children's fitness party. This is a great way to show your kids and their friends that children’s fitness can be fun.

Send out invitations that have an exercise theme. Let the kids help make the invitations and then start planning the food and activities.

There are many party foods that taste great and are also healthy. Fresh fruits and vegetables served with low-fat dip and pita chips are yummy choices. There are healthier versions of hot dogs, chips, salsa and frozen yogurt. Test the foods ahead of time and the kids can be part of the final menu choices.

Plan games that encourage a lot of movement. If the weather will be nice you can move the most or all of the party outside. A children's fitness party can include a soccer or football game. The kids can bring their roller skates or bikes. Have the children bring their bathing suits and take everyone to the pool.

Think about planning a mini-Olympics. There are all kinds of events that can be planned that will promote children's fitness. The kids can compete and be physically active all at the same time. They won't even realize that the goal is children's fitness!

If the weather will be cold you can plan an ice skating party or take the kids sledding. You could also rent a gym so the kids can play basketball or volleyball.

A children's fitness party will be a big hit and will get your kids on the road to better health and exercise.
