Children's fitness can be quite an issue for everyone. Many schools are removing or cutting back children's fitness and recess times. Families are busy and pulled in many different directions. One answer may be a neighborhood children's fitness program.
A neighborhood children's fitness program is easy to organize. This type of children's fitness program is beneficial to everyone involved. Start by engaging other neighbors who are concerned about children's health and fitness issues. Have a meeting and discuss activities, guidelines and concerns. Decide times and responsibilities.
The neighborhood children's fitness program can have activities for several age groups. You can form teams of families or children. Each team can decide on the fitness activities they want to pursue. The teams may have workout sessions, play basketball, volleyball or softball. Teams may want to walk, run or bike together. Other activities could involve renting a gym and playing team sports, ping pong or pool.
Children's fitness neighborhood teams may want to host other teams and provide challenges, games and healthy snacks. Children's fitness will be fun and involve other neighbors and family members.
When the weather is nice the neighborhood children's fitness teams may bike together or go to the local pool. Mommy and Me groups can be formed for exercising activities. Dads can also be involved with exercise groups or play on teams with their kids.
Entire neighborhoods can get in shape and get to know each other at the same time. Neighborhood children's fitness groups will encourage exercise and good health. If you are concerned about children's fitness think about forming a fitness group in your neighborhood.
