Cory Bertisch - Chief Executive Officer
From the very inception of My Gym Enterprises, Cory Bertisch has overseen all corporate operations including sales, employee development, franchisee training, company direction, expansion, and product conception and advancement. Cory’s background prior to establishing MGE includes extensive experience in the field of early childhood development, a successful stint in the field of construction/development, hands-on counselor training in child psychology, and five years as Co-Owner/Director of the thriving My Gym Van Nuys, CA from 1989 to 1994. Cory is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. He is also a co-owner of a My Gym franchise in New York, NY. Cory and his wife, Trish, have two young children who are shining examples of the My Gym concept.
Jamie Bertisch - Chief Financial Officer
A founder of My Gym Enterprises and pivotal in its creation and further development, Jamie has been the Chief Financial Officer since its beginning in 1994. Jamie also sits on the Board of Directors of the My Gym Challenged America Foundation, a charitable organization he and his brother, Randy, established in 2002 to improve the quality of life for children throughout the country who are physically challenged, cognitively delayed, or at-risk for various causes. Jamie is a graduate of the University of California at Irvine with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology; he holds a minor in accounting as well. Jamie owns the My Gym franchise in Pasadena, CA. He and his wife, Maggie, have two active young children who love to tumble and dance.
Mike Chalovich - Chief Operating Officer
Mike is the Chief Operating Officer responsible for overseeing all operations, franchise expansion, and new business development. He sits on the company’s Board of Directors and continues to guide the company’s expansion both nationally and throughout the world. Dedicated to improving children's lives, he has worked with youngsters since he was a teenager and currently shares his time as a volunteer for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America. Mike is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's degree in Communications. He is also a co-owner of a My Gym franchise in New York, NY. Mike and his wife, Kami, have one young son - a real sweetie pie!
Matt Hendison - Chief Officer, Marketing & Entertainment
As Chief Officer of Marketing and Entertainment, Matt leads the Consumer Products Division and has recently overseen the company’s first venture into television with BabyFirstTV, launched worldwide in January 2008. Matt is responsible for all sponsorships and has created national marketing opportunities for Beaches, Nickelodeon, NBC/Universal and Huggies. Prior to My Gym, Matt worked for the National Basketball Association as the Director of Programming. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing/Communications from the University of Connecticut, where he was a member of the varsity ice hockey team. Matt also owns My Gym franchises in Kingston, MA and Shrewsbury, NJ.
Monique Vranesh - Co-Founder
As a founding partner of My Gym, Monique has been instrumental in the formation of the company as well as the continuing advancement of the My Gym concept and brand throughout the world. Monique gained national recognition for her role as teacher in “My Gym at Home,” BabyFirstTV’s first physical fitness program. As the devoted mother of two young daughters, Monique is thrilled to see her own children benefit from the unique program she helped create. Monique is a graduate of the University of California at Santa Barbara with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology with emphasis on Family. She also owns the My Gym franchise in Encino, CA.
Randy Bertisch – MGCA Founder and President
From the moment Randy Bertisch saw his first television commercial, he knew he wanted to act. A multitalented dynamo, he achieved success as a performer, director and producer while still very young and was accepted into USC’s acclaimed BFA program, for which 30 students were accepted nationally each year. Randy was headed for stardom with notable credits when an out-of-control dump truck struck his car and changed his goals forever. After months in a coma and an intense struggle to regain his life, Randy set out to “give back” for his miraculous recovery by establishing the My Gym Challenged America Foundation.
As founder and President of MGCA, Randy sits on the Board of Directors and oversees all operations including gift requests and appropriations, My Gym Scholarship awards, the Outreach Program, and national fundraising events. As a physically challenged person, himself, Randy is an amazing example of what hard work and determination, combined with appropriate therapies and equipment, can accomplish. His purpose in creating MGCA was to help underprivileged children who face adversity achieve the same success as he. His greatest satisfaction is seeing what his foundation has done for so many.
Edwin Chavez – Executive Vice President, Support & Training
As the head of the Training and Domestic Support Divisions, Edwin works with owners and managers to assist in the growth and development of their franchises. He frequently travels the country holding seminars for My Gym franchisees and directors. Now with a career in childhood developed that spans almost 20 years, Edwin began working with children when he was young. He and his wife, Michelle, own two My Gym franchises in Valencia, CA and Northridge, CA.
Angie Foote -Vice President of Training
Angie Foote began her career as Director of My Gym Huntington Beach, CA, a training center for new franchisees. As Head Trainer, she proved herself to be a highly skilled instructor and manager, was invited to join the Training Division of My Gym Enterprises, and now serves as Vice President of both Training and Programming. A talented athlete with a love of children and a desire to play a role in the development of a healthy society, Angie feels there is nothing more important she can do than dedicate herself to the My Gym philosophy, training new franchisees from all over the world. Angie holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Iowa with a major in Sports, Health, Leisure & Physical Studies and a minor in Business Administration. She and her husband, Colin, own My Gym Overland Park, KS.
Chris King – Vice President of Support
As Vice President of the Support Division, Chris King assists franchisees in every facet of business operations. His primary responsibilities encompass guiding franchisees’ business direction and development, training, marketing, staffing and budgeting. Chris began his career with My Gym in 1999 as the dynamic director of My Gym Palm Harbor, FL, earning the National Director of the Year award in his first year with the organization. From there, Chris relocated to Charlotte, NC where he became a franchisee and was instrumental in developing multiple successful facilities within a new territory. In 2004, he returned to Florida and became a valued member of our corporate team. A very busy man, Chris spends much of his spare time with his wonderful teenage daughter. He and his wife, Kristin, are currently co-owners of My Gym Jupiter, FL.
Laura Fetters – Vice President of Operations
Laura Fetters began her My Gym career in 1997 as a franchisee in West Palm Beach. These were the early days for My Gym; so, after achieving great success with her Florida location, she was asked to join the corporate team and move to the Chicago area to own and operate a new gym in order to spread the My Gym name. After aiding in the opening and operational support of six addition Chicago area locations, Laura returned to Florida as Director of Support. She is now Director of Operations, assisting gyms worldwide in both the pre-opening process and operational support. Laura is a graduate of Florida State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Leisure Services. She is currently co-owner of My Gyms in Wesley Chapel and Jupiter, FL and stays very busy with her two community-minded, athletic sons.
Tom Saito – Vice President of Opening
As the head of the Opening Division, Tom Saito expertly guides new gym owners through the processes involved in purchasing and owning a My Gym franchise. He is responsible for the sourcing and distribution of all My Gym equipment and is also a member of the Support Division. Prior to My Gym, Tom taught at the elementary level and coached high school sports. His interest in business, love of children, and enthusiasm for athletics and fitness ultimately led him to My Gym. Tom and his wife, Chelsea, are raising three beautiful children on the Jersey Shore where he trains and races as a competitive triathlete. Tom is a graduate of Gannon University where he received a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and was captain of the school’s wrestling team. He is co-owner of My Gym Shrewsbury, NJ.
Susi & Yacov Sherman - My Gym Children's Fitness Center Founders & Trainers
Susi and Yacov are founders of My Gym Children's Fitness Center and remain the owner/operators of two thriving gyms they established in the early 1980s - in Woodland Hills, CA and Thousand Oaks, CA. Both Susi and Yacov train new franchisees and also act as consultants for My Gym, providing invaluable guidance and information on growth strategies. After his studies in Special Education and Dance Therapy at Haifa University in Israel, Yacov went on to teach dance, gymnastics and physical education to children with special needs. Susi studied Dance at the University of Colorado with emphasis on Movement Education Training. She is a Movement Specialist who has taught gymnastics, physical education and dance for the Los Angeles Unified School District, community centers and private institutions. Yacov and Susi have three children, one still in college, one teaching preschool, and the oldest who creates and runs programs for their My Gyms.
